FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Common questions from prospective and current clients. If your question is not answered here, write to hello@oracloudservices.com.
Which cloud platforms do you support?
AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. We hold partner accreditations on all three — AWS Partner Advanced, Microsoft Azure Expert MSP, and Google Cloud Partner. We do not manage proprietary hosting or co-location infrastructure.
Do you work with organisations that are new to cloud?
Yes, frequently. Most of our migration engagements start with clients running on co-location or hosted infrastructure. We run a cloud-readiness assessment as the first step of any migration project.
How does the managed cloud service work?
We take operational responsibility for your cloud environment under a defined SLA — 99.95% uptime on managed workloads, four-hour response to Severity-1 incidents. We monitor continuously, patch on an agreed schedule, review security posture fortnightly, and run a monthly FinOps review. You have a named senior engineer as your primary contact.
Can you support compliance requirements?
Yes. We have active practice around ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, and GDPR for cloud environments. For financial-services clients we produce documentation aligned to CBI, FCA, and EBA cloud outsourcing expectations. Compliance deliverables are included in scoped engagements, not priced separately.
What is your pricing model?
Migration and project engagements are priced on time and materials, with a fixed-fee option for well-scoped projects. Managed cloud is a monthly retainer, priced per managed account and workload tier. We share indicative pricing in the first conversation.
Do you sign data-processing agreements?
Yes, as a matter of course for any engagement involving personal data. For healthcare and financial-services clients we produce GDPR Article 28 DPAs as standard. DPIA support is available for high-risk processing activities.
How long does a cloud migration take?
It depends on the complexity of the source environment. A small, cloud-ready environment can migrate in four to six weeks. A complex regulated environment with stateful workloads and compliance requirements typically takes three to six months. We produce a detailed timeline as part of the cloud-readiness assessment.
Do you do FinOps?
Yes. Cloud cost optimisation is part of every managed cloud engagement — we commit contractually to identifying savings equivalent to a minimum percentage of managed spend annually. For organisations that want FinOps without full managed operations, it is available as a standalone retainer.
What certifications does your team hold?
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Azure Expert MSP, CKA (Kubernetes), Terraform Associate, CISA, AWS Security Specialty, and ITIL 4, across the team.
Can you help us with disaster recovery?
Yes. Disaster recovery design — defining RPO and RTO requirements, selecting appropriate mechanisms, and testing failover — is part of our managed cloud and migration practice. We produce tested DR runbooks as a standard deliverable in managed engagements.
Do you work with startups?
Yes, selectively. We work best with companies that have a defined engineering team and a production workload. Very early-stage companies are sometimes better served by a cloud-native framework setup before bringing in a consultancy. We are glad to have an honest conversation about timing.
Where is client data hosted?
We host client infrastructure in the cloud regions appropriate to the workload's data-residency and latency requirements. For EEA clients with GDPR obligations, we default to EU-region deployments. We do not route client data through non-EEA regions without explicit written agreement.
